Shipping Method Overview

Most of our Australian orders are sent via Australian Air Express. Australian Air Express will deliver to your home, work, PO Box or drop your parcel at your local post office for pick up.

Our website automatically calculates the shipping cost of your parcel using the total weight/cubic weight of the products in your shopping basket and your postcode. During checkout your shipping quote will show as ‘N/A’ until you have logged in or provided your address. Payment is not required until you have seen how much the shipping will be.

Shipping Costs & Delivery Times

Orders are packed and dispatched around 2PM AEST on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. If your parcel cannot be despatched immediately for some reason, you will be contacted by email or phone.

With Australian Air Express we have some Flat Rate Specials which will cover the majority of our shipments. These flat rate specials are the premium service, have full tracking ability and will normally be delivered the next day.

Beyond these weights the you will get the option of either an economy service (Express Saver) or a Premium service (Express Premium). Both services have excellent tracking but the Express Premium parcels are normally delivered the next day whilst the Express Saver parcels may take up to 5 days depending on your location.

A very few number of places in Australia do not get the Express Saver option because there simply isn’t an economical way to get the parcel there. Most likely you already know if you live in one of these places : )

Authority to Leave

Our default procedure is to give ‘Authority to Leave’ the parcel if no-one is home.

Please leave a note during checkout if you have a specific place for the courier to leave the parcel or if it is not safe to do so and you would like a card left to arrange pick up from your local post office.

My Parrot Shop does not accept responsibility for parcels that have been stolen from your property.

Tracking

When your order has been sent you will be notified by email. Your email will contain a tracking number and a link to the tracking website.

Cubic Weight

When it comes to shipping sometimes it’s the size of the parcel that matters more than the weight. For some products, such as the "Get a Grip" we have entered them with their equivalent cubic weight rather than their actual weight.
