Prices and GST
All prices shown on this website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) by default and include GST (a 10% sales tax payable by all Australian customers).
Choosing a Currency
The default currency on the My Parrot Shop website is Australian Dollars. Selecting a currency from the drop down box on the left hand side of the screen changes all the prices on the website (including shipping and totals when you go through the checkout) to show its approximate value in the selected currency.
Please be aware that all transactions are carried out in Australian Dollars only and the currency function is only there to help you APPROXIMATE what your order will cost in your own currency.
Browsing
The left column of our web site displays the navigation panel for our products (as opposed to the buttons along the top of the screen, which are for general information). Our stock is organized by product type, and some categories are then sub-divided into sizes. Any items we felt crossed the size barrier will be listed under small and medium birds, or medium and large birds etc. You can also view all the products for that category by clicking on the category title.
Searching for Products
If you’re after a particular toy, there is a search box located at the top right of the website. When you type in a word, the search engine will search all product titles and descriptions for that word. You can type in more than one word, however it will broaden rather than a narrow your search unless your write an ‘and’ between the words. You will find that the search button can be used to a wonderful effect, if you’re after a certain brand of toy, or a quality like “long and lasting”, or even a certain component like “wiffle” ball.
Please note - the search box does not look through the text on the information pages, only product pages.
Registering
Registering involves providing your name, shipping address and contact details and will need to be done if you make an order or want to check the postage costs of something. The information you provide is kept on our secure database so you can track the progress of your order. It also means you only need to enter your details once, saving yourself considerable time in the future. My Parrot Shop guarantees to never disclose, sell, rent or exchange your personal details to any third party for any reason.
